As can be seen on the giant banner on the right ecotopia 2004 will be from the 9th till the 23rd of august 2004.
Location
Ecotopia 2004 Netherlands is going to take place in a nature area nearby Loevesteijn Castle, at the river Waal. It is at an island reachable by public transport (a ferry from Gorinchem). The natural environment in the old river landscape has enough room and examples of water management and polder systems, as well as good contacts with the farmers in the area.
Traveling to the Netherlands
By train:
Check international Timetables at the Website of the Dutch Railways www.ns.nl or at Deutche Bahn
Don't forget about the HAPPY WEEKEND TICKET in Germany
By bus:
Check http://www.eurolines.com or buscompagnies in your own country (which are usually cheaper)

Travel in the Netherlands
The Netherlands has one of the most dense trainnetworks in the Netherlands. Unfortunately trains aren't very cheap in the Netherlands, but you won't hav e to travel long distances. (Expect around € 10,- for a one way fare.) There is no difference in price between Intercity trains and slow trains, so do n't hesitate to use the Intercity trains. Intercity trains run at least every half hour between most major cities

By Bus
"Take the Intercity train to Breda or Utrecht (or 's Hertogenbosch if this is more convenient)"
FROM UTRECHT.
Take Bus "Interliner" 400 or 401 (direction: Breda or Oosterhout) every half hour at .22 or .52 (Last bus leaves at 23.22)
FROM BREDA:
Take Bus "Interliner" 401 (direction: Utrecht) every hour at .56 (.58 in the evening) Last bus leaves at 21.58
You must EXIT AT "Sleeuwijk - Tol". From there it's 7 KM to Woudrichem. (See Map)
FROM "SLEEUWIJK - TOL" to WOUDRICHEM3
Until 20:01 it's possible to go from "Sleeuwijk - Tol " to "Woudrichem - Het Rondeel" by Bus 121 (direction: 's Hertogenbosch) This bus leaves every hour at .01 (Last bus leaves at 20:01)
After 20:01 you can walk (See map), hitchhike or call +31-6-40708976 (if we have time we might send a minibus)
In Woudrichem walk into "Bejaminslaan". At the end of this street go to the left into "Burgemeester van der Lelystraat". After this take the first street to the right. This is the "Koepoortstraat" and you cross some bridges. Keep walking until you see the "Hoogstraat" on the right. Go into this street and keep walking until you reach the small ferry-boat. Cross the water and you are at ECOTOPIA 2004!!!
FROM 'S HERTOGENBOSCH
It's also possible to take the bus from 's Hertogenbosch to Woudrichem (Busstop "Het Rondeel") with Bus 121 (direction: Gorinchem) This bus leaves every hour at .10 (Last bus leaves at 17:10)
ATTENTION!!!! DIFFERENT TIMES ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
From Utrecht: On Sunday only 401, every hour at .55 ; Last bus leaves at 21:55
From Breda: On Sunday the last bus leaves at 20:58
Bus 121: No Service on Saturday and Sunday!
By Ferry
ATTENTION!!!
If you travel via Gorinchem , it is your own responsibility to arive in time for the last Ferry. There will be no transport "arranged" from Gorinchem to Ecotopia We are sorry if have received any misinformation on this before.

You Should take the Intercity train to either Dordrecht, Utrecht or 's Hertogenbosch. From Dordrecht you take the slow train in the direction of Geldermalsen and get of in Gorinchem. From Utrecht or 's Hertogenbosch you first need to travel by slow train to Geldermalsen and change to the train to Dordrecht. Get off at Gorinchem.
If you leave the train station, go to the right and you will see a bridge. Cross the bridge, you will come at the Banneweg, go traight ahead and you will come at the Westwagenstraat. Walk till the end of this street and you will come at the Haarstraat, go right there and straight ahead. The street name will schange in infirst street to the right. This is the "Koepoortstraat" and you cross some bridges. Keep walking until you see the "Hoogstraat" on the right. Go into this street and keep walking until you reach the small ferry-boat. Cross the water and you are at ECOTOPIA 2004!!!
